Raith Rovers 0 Peterhead 2
A goal in either half was sufficient to secure victory for Peterhead over a poor Raith Rovers side at a freezing cold Starks Park, the Kirkcaldy men now finding themselves in a state of freefall following a poor run of results, particularly at home where they have failed to record a victory since early September.
Little of note occured during the early stages of this game, although Rovers' top scorer Paul McManus did test Peterhead keeper Paul Mathers with a glancing header in the 19th minute.
The game sprang into life midway throught the first half when the Highlanders took the lead, Jamie Buchan's corner on the left falling to the feet of diminutive striker Bobby LInn, who drove the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.
Neil Jablonski squandered a chance to equalise as the interval approached, the midfielder choosing to pass to Scott Crabbe after a poor clearance by Mathers and Crabbe's subsequent shot being saved brilliantly by the Blue Toon keeper.
Raith's customary second half revival looked to have paid dividends when David Bagan found himself with a great chance in front of goal, but Peterhead defender Ian Good blocked his close-range effort.
Ian Stewart's men wrapped up the points in the 78th minute when Martin Wood took advantage of a mix-up in the home defence to advance on goal and score easily.
